DBA employees attend “Confined Space” safety training.
Approach to Safety
DBA is dedicated to the safety of all employees, subcontractors, suppliers, owners, engineers, project stakeholders, and the public at large. This commitment to safety is demonstrated by our current EMOD of 0.69.
The elimination of all accidents through individual employee empowerment to “stop work” if an unsafe condition is observed, is only part of our commitment to safety.
Proactive and continuous training, enforcing company standards and expectations at every job site, and reinforcement of personal safe execution in the form of quarterly safety incentives allows the company to maintain an aggressive hazard recognition and corrective action plan.
The addition of a highly trained and experienced Safety Manager to the DBA team has provided assurances of proactive safety education and a “second set of eyes” in the field to protect and engage field personnel in proper use of equipment and tools.
DBA requires, and has a “zero tolerance” drug-free policy.
Safety begins before every shift with preconstruction planning and hazard awareness/recognition communications. Continuous review of plans and procedures in how to respond to potential hazards is part of every job and involves all crew members including subcontractors. Every employee is required to participate in pre-employment screening and training protocols, including:
- OSHA-Competent Person
- New Employee Orientation
- MSHA Part 46
- New Employee Mentoring
- Continuous Training & Reviews
- CPR & First Aid
- Equipment Inspections
- Seven-Year Background Check
- Drug & Alcohol Testing (Pre-employment and random)
- Daily Tool Box Meetings
- JHA (Job Hazard Analysis) reports
- Two Minute Drills
