Working under our Job Order Contract with the City of Scottsdale, DBA recently completed construction of the improved intersection of Dynamite and Pima Roads. Continuous development in the area created heavy traffic and back-ups in the left-turn cue. This was causing added congestion in the intersection and increased the potential for crashes.
DBA demolished the existing median, constructed a second left-turn lane from Dynamite onto Pima Road and reconstructed the median farther back from the intersection. Our scope of work included demolition, earthwork, new concrete curb, gutter, and median; minor landscaping, intersection paving, new signage and striping.
DBA was hired to construct a new sediment tank at the Cholla Power Plant in Joseph City, Arizona. The sediment tank collects water from the plant that is pumped in through a series of pipes and pumps, separating the sediment from the water into one of two chambers within the structure. The clean water flows over the wall into the second chamber and out the top of the structure into a larger basin to be reused. The sediment sinks to the bottom of the first chamber where it can then be removed.
The heavily reinforced concrete structure was 43′ long by 23′ wide and 15′ deep extended with a two-foot thick concrete foundation. The walls were 18″ thick and could only be poured in place for 44 linear feet at a time in order to install heavy rubber waterstops at every joint. The shoring used for the structure were pre-engineered EFCO forms that were reconfigured and reused for each section of the tank. Once the floor and walls were complete, crews constructed a concrete deck on top that supported the pumps.
Shortly after the tank was constructed, DBA was asked to construct a rebar reinforced concrete slab alongside the top of the structure to accommodate the sediment removal operations.
Scottsdale WestWorld’s Arena 8 is being removed by DBA crews to make space for more parking for the Barrett Jackson Auction. Our scope is demolition, earthwork, paving, electrical, utility adjustments, storm drain relocation, and constructing extra concrete RV pedestal pads.
Working under our Job Order Contract with the City of Scottsdale, DBA crews recently completed the construction of all new sidewalks, ADA ramps, and driveways along Mountain View Drive west of 112th Street.
In addition, the new sidewalks, ramps, driveways and asphalt pavement was coated with an equestrian-friendly, non-slip surface treatment.
DBA crews recently completed some drainage improvements in the Town of Superior for Pinal County Public Works.
The work, completed using DBA’s Job Order Contract with the County, included the replacement of pavements, reconstruction of driveways, the addition of sidewalks and valley gutters for improved drainage along Church Avenue and Copper Mountain Drive at the east end of town.
