Summer monsoons and winter rain storms have laid waste to some of the private properties along the southern end of the Gila River Indian Community near the Vee Quiva Casino. A long term solution was required which came in the form of multiple, very large retention basins placed around the toe of the hillside. Extensive earthwork along with the construction of 41 cast-in-place, concrete inlet-outlet structures, spillways and a large multi-barrel box culvert.

DBA was responsible for all of the structural concrete work on the project which was recently completed.

Verrado Intersection Upgrades

08 Apr 2020/in Governmental Agencies, Latest News and Information, Uncategorized /by Jeanne Sapon

Located in the west valley in Buckeye, Arizona, DBA is finishing up the construction upgrades to the intersection of Verrado Way and Thomas Road. DMB (the master planned community’s developer) and our client, realized that the community had grown beyond a 4-way stop at the intersection and decided to add traffic signals.

Our scope of work is to upgrade the intersection with new concrete aprons and new ADA ramps on all four corners. The alignment of the new ramps created an alignment difference of the painted crosswalks. Paint obliteration is taking place today (April 8) with new striping planned for April 9. The mast arms and signal poles were a long-lead item (matching the communities style) and will be installed later this Spring.
